With the advent of the pilot training schemes for both Practitioners and Scientists (which is part of the Modernising Scientific Careers programme) we decided much of our training information was out of date. We have now begun to upload some information from the MSC programme - please follow the links to Practitioner and Clinical Scientist training for further information.

Best Practise Meeting on Bowel Cancer

We have now held our first BP training day on Lynch syndrome (HNPCC) and FAP. The event, which was held at Northwich Park Hospital on Mon 30th November, was a great success with Scientists attending from across the country and and also from the Netherlands. We hope to hold these events annually; further details will be posted later next year

CPD and Registration pages

We have now created new web-pages for both Registration and CPD for Clinical Scientists. Please follow the links and check out the information on these pages and remember we are now counting down towards the first HPC audits of CPD for Clinical Scientists.

The Training Downloads Page Has Moved

The training downloads page contains lots of useful information on training with many documents and presentations available for you to download. However, we .have had to move this material into the members area of the web-site to prevent public access. Please contact your local training officer for password details for this area.

CPD template for HPC

There is a new template on the download page designed to assist with meeting CPD requirements for registered clinical scientists (HPC). Engagement with CPD activities became a requirement of HPC on 1st July 2006. The HPC plans to begin auditing clinical scientists in September 2009.
